Meet the Ochenge family. Several years ago, its head, Ibrahim, lost his leg in a road accident. Watch the video to find out how he has overcome disability and implemented crop diversification to both combat drought and adapt his farming to his own capacity. Now, in spite of the aridity, cassava, pigeon peas and sweet potatoes make their way from his vegetable garden to the family’s plates. The water tank, funded by World Renew’s ‘Free a Family’ programme, is the source of this food produce because it facilitates irrigation from far closer to home.
