Can you sum up what transformation means to you in one word? This was the exercise given to child development workers at the Rafsajan refugee settlement in Iran’s Kerman Province as part of a ten-day training programme delivered by the Spanish NGO, Creart, in collaboration with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). Displaced Afghans have sought refuge in Iran for over three decades. Many displaced and orphaned children attend the nurseries and schools within the Rafsajan camp. In 2015, the NRC embarked on a global campaign to expand its education and learning programmes to one million displaced children. But a good education also requires inspired, creative teachers. This beautifully created, captivating film captures the inspiration that Creart’s Peace Education Through Art course has instilled in Rafsajan’s team of educators.
