Ethiopia has produced some of the world’s greatest long distance runners. In the hills of Bekoji, aspiring athletes gather and train to win. The country’s runners have not only boosted the profile of the nation, they’ve also become role models for others. However, many lack the resources to fulfil their potential. A unique non-profit, the Girls Gotta Run Foundation, is supporting impoverished young Ethiopian women to build better futures for themselves through running. Recognising the empowering impact of sport on young girls, the Foundation has facilitated the formation of four female running teams with the help of kit and equipment donated by Nike. Our videographer, Harrison, went to Bekoji to learn more and to document what he found on film. This is the trailer for the full feature.
